“Landmark Trial Continues in Yerevan: Avetik Chalabyan Faces Accusations of Public Disorder and Inciting Students to Donate”

The trial in the court of Yerevan, presided over by Judge Manatsakan Martirosyan, continued today, December 13, with the involvement of the “Hayakv” preliminary investigation system, which was initiated by political-civic worker Avetik Chalabyan.

Avetik Chalabyan stands accused of organizing and participating in public gatherings with the intention of disrupting public order, as well as inciting students to donate 1000 drams each to the fund of the Agrarian University.

During the hearing of the disciplinary committee, it was revealed that certain individuals, purporting to represent the political authorities, had transferred 2,000,000 drams to the National Agrarian University’s account to encourage the participation of two thousand students in the gatherings. Avetik Chalabyan and Emma Sargsyan, a lecturer at the Agrarian University, were both charged in connection with this matter.

As a reminder, Avetik Chalabyan is accused of organizing and participating in public gatherings with the intention of disrupting public order, as well as inciting students to donate 1000 drams each to the fund of the Agrarian University.
