“Former Captive’s Emotional Reunion: Hope Rises as Artsakh Liberator Shares Captivity Ordeal and Longs for Return to Loved Ones”

During a meeting with journalists near the “Mouratsan” hospital, Hrayr Avagyan, a liberator of Artsakh who was recently released from captivity, revealed that he had been captured in Khojaly. He expressed his gratitude to the Red Cross for their assistance and mentioned that despite his captor’s relatively kind demeanor, the conditions were far from good. Avagyan expressed hope for a swift return to the representatives of the Artsakh government.

Furthermore, Avagyan shared the joyful news that the children who had been held captive had been released and that they had returned to Yerevan from Gyumri. He expressed his immense gratitude to both the government and the community for their efforts in securing the children’s safe return.

It is important to note that on this day, Armenian captives who had returned from Azerbaijan gathered near the “Mouratsan” psychiatric hospital. This location serves as the investigation site for prisoners of war.

Previously, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that 31 civilian captives of the Republic of Armenia and one civilian captive from the Artsakh-Armenia border had been returned between 2020 and 2023. He assured the public that they would undergo medical examinations before reuniting with their families.

These recent developments demonstrate the progress being made in the repatriation of captives and provide much-needed hope for those eagerly anticipating the safe return of their loved ones.
