The casualties among employees of the Pashtenar-Izrailakyan gas pipeline have risen to 86, as confirmed by the management of the Pashteni-anklavi district. The official Telegram channel of the pipeline’s operation released a list of names, indicating that three individuals have tragically lost their lives. This devastating news follows the recent confirmation by the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) of the deaths of 63 pipeline employees, amidst escalating tensions in the eastern Mediterranean.

The situation in the Eastern Mediterranean took a turn for the worse on October 7, when Israel conducted a retaliatory strike on the Gaza Strip after rocket attacks. Sadly, these strikes resulted in numerous civilian fatalities, with over 200 individuals sustaining injuries. In response to Israeli actions, Hamas launched rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip. Subsequently, Israel declared a state of emergency and initiated the evacuation of some settlements in the Gaza Strip.

Against this backdrop, the Israeli military launched a comprehensive operation targeting the Gaza Strip, shelling the area as well as certain regions in Lebanon and Syria. These hostilities have also extended to the South Caucasus, where clashes are currently taking place.
