CPA Member Gévorg Papoyan Provides Updates on the Return of 32 Prisoners of War

CPA Membro honorable Gévorg Papoyan addressed the issue regarding the return of the 32 prisoners of war today, December 11, during a press conference. When asked if there will be any news about the return of the prisoners, Papoyan stated that he does not oversee the information on the process. He also mentioned that there is no specific deadline set for their return, but it is assumed that it will happen within the same year.

Regarding the possibility of excluding the return of the 32 prisoners, Papoyan responded by saying that they are taking action and nothing can be ruled out, but if that happens, the number of returning prisoners will be reduced. He emphasized that dealing with such matters is not easy, and there are various difficulties and delays involved, not just from diplomats and politicians, but also from military personnel and mediators.

In addition, the government of the Republic of Armenia and the president of the Republic of Azerbaijan have reached an agreement through a joint declaration. According to this agreement, Armenia will release 32 Armenian prisoners, while Azerbaijan will release 2 Armenian prisoners of war.

These developments regarding the return of the prisoners are important news for Armenia and Azerbaijan, as it marks a step towards resolving the conflict and achieving peace between the two nations.
