“Yerevan’s Zvartnots Airport: A Unique Fleet of Armenian-made Aircraft and Helicopters”

Yerevan’s “Zvartnots” international airport is home to a unique fleet of aircraft, both locally made and internationally used. One notable aircraft is the Airbus A319-100 ACJ, which is rarely seen in other airports. The airport also houses helicopters of significant value, as reported by Hetq. Previously, there were 7 helicopters, but now there are only 6. Among them, one registered with the RA aviation registry as EK-65072 had served the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, until 2010.

The helicopter, with its previous Armenian registration as EK-65072, had been in service from 2007 to 2010, alongside the new presidential plane, “Airbus A319-100 ACJ”. The first helicopter, originally launched in 1977, was initially operated by the Eastern Aero Club and the Armenian National Airlines. During the 1990s, it underwent a conversion to become a VIP helicopter.

It is interesting to note that the apron of the “Zvartnots” airport, which includes the area outside the terminal, is part of the territory belonging to the AUС (Armenian Helicopter).
