“United States, South Korea, and Japan Demand End to DPRK’s Provocative Actions as Global Pressure Mounts”

The United States, South Korea, and Japan have jointly called for an end to the provocative actions of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK). The US national security adviser, Jae-hyun Ahn, expressed Washington’s support for international efforts aimed at denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula and halting ballistic missile tests and provocative military operations during a recent meeting. Ahn further stressed the need for exploring new sanctions to increase pressure on the DPRK and effectively address their nuclear and missile programs. He mentioned specific measures targeting the cryptocurrency and fuel sectors, while also considering further restrictions to maximize the impact of existing sanctions.

Ahn underscored the importance of evaluating the types and quantities of weapons, as well as the roles of Russian and Chinese authorities that supply them. However, he did not elaborate on the coordination of these discussions with the Republic of Korea and Japan. Ahn did express his concern about the lack of significant progress in addressing the issue of weapon supplies, emphasizing that the continued endangerment posed by the DPRK remains a pressing concern.
