President Erdogan Warns of Rising Islamophobia and Discrimination Threatening Human Rights

Islamophobia and other forms of discrimination, which are on the rise in Western societies, pose a significant threat to human rights, according to Turkey’s President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Speaking on the International Day of Human Rights, Erdogan highlighted the violation of individual rights in many countries. He pointed to the growing number of violent acts carried out by extremist groups, which primarily target migrants. Erdogan also expressed concern about the increasing prejudice and discrimination against Muslims and migrants in countries around the world, ranging from Canada and the United States to Europe and Asia.

Erdogan criticized Western countries for disregarding the principle of freedom of thought and implementing restrictions, such as blocking the common declaration of the Migrant Rights of the Council of Europe. He further condemned Israel’s aggressive policies, claiming that its actions in the Mediterranean have caused tensions and conflicts in Gaza, which could have detrimental effects on the entire human race. In contrast to his hopes for a fair game, Erdogan expressed skepticism about achieving this with the United States, suggesting that America is biased towards Israel.
