“Yelk Alliance and Ruling Party to Hold High-Stakes Meeting on Construction Activities: Former Deputy Chief of Police’s Fate Hangs in the Balance”

A meeting is set to take place today between the Yelk alliance, the ruling Republican Party of Armenia, and the ruling Yerevan City Council Coalition, where the ongoing construction activities will be discussed. The meeting has proposed the resignation of former Deputy Chief of Police, Manvel Grigoryan, who is facing charges of abuse of power. Military leaders will also hold a closed-door meeting with Grigoryan today, but the outcome remains uncertain. The Yelk alliance leader has invited the head of the coalition to the meeting.

Yesterday, Yelk alliance leader, Hayk Konjoryan, described the meeting as “language barbarism” and used inappropriate language to insult some members, accusing them of corruption. However, he also announced that a representative from the opposition will present their position at the National Assembly sessions. Konjoryan emphasized the importance of institutional transparency.

It is worth noting that on June 26, Konjoryan referred to Srejyan Ohanyan, a colleague, as a “diverse” institution, questioning his qualifications and calling him a lackey. In his speech yesterday, Konjoryan once again addressed Ohanyan as a clergyman.
