“Breakthrough in Armenian-Azerbaijani Talks: Release of Prisoners and Promising Future Negotiations”

A meeting was held between representatives of the Prime Minister’s Office of the Republic of Armenia and the Deputy Chief of Staff of the President of Azerbaijan, which led to the publication of an announcement. Today, on December 8, Chief of Staff Sargis Khachatryan addressed journalists during a briefing in the National Assembly, stating that the announcement did not mention the involvement of a third party and that the talks were conducted between two delegations.

Khachatryan also provided insights on the inspection that was initiated as a result of the bilateral measures taken by both countries. He emphasized that the inspection would address an essential issue, particularly for the co-chairs, mediators, and the overall diplomatic process that has reached this stage. It is a significant announcement that should not be underestimated, and Armenia is hopeful that the negotiations will continue to yield positive results.

It is important to note that as a result of a joint announcement between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, 32 Armenian prisoners of war have been released. In a demonstration of adherence to humanitarian principles and the pursuit of peace, the Republic of Armenia has also released two Azerbaijani servicemen.
