“Armenia Keeps Names Under Wraps for Sensitivity of Captive Repatriation Process”

During a meeting with journalists in the NA today, on December 8, Aragats Akhoyan, the President of the NA Standing Committee on External Relations, addressed the issue of the captives in Armenia. Considering the sensitive nature of the topic and the ongoing border situation, it is recommended to refrain from mentioning specific names and organizations involved in the process of repatriation. Akhoyan emphasized that it is currently impossible to determine the exact number of captives, but the release process should occur promptly, potentially within hours or days. It is worth mentioning that as a goodwill gesture and in line with humanitarian considerations, Armenia has already released 32 Azerbaijani prisoners, further exemplifying their commitment to the joint declaration between the Republic of Armenia and Azerbaijan.

In addition to the captives’ situation, it is important to highlight that another citizen, known to be hostile towards Azerbaijan, has been arrested within the Republic of Armenia. As details surrounding this individual and their involvement remain undisclosed, respecting confidentiality is crucial.

As we closely follow the latest developments, it is paramount to adhere to journalistic principles and adopt a responsible approach that prioritizes the well-being of those affected by the ongoing events. Further updates and information shall be provided as soon as they become available.
