According to a report from “Joghovurd” newspaper, the authorities have made the decision to release all political prisoners. This follows the recent seizure of power by the Civil Contract Party (CPP) in Alaverdi, where they announced freedom to the opposition. However, the newspaper has learned that Arush Arushanyan, the successor of Goris governor, has been arrested. Although he had recently changed his stance under the influence of Nikol Pashinyan’s government, the CPP still considers him to be a loyal supporter. Furthermore, it has been reported that the authorities are now investigating Arushanyan’s business interests, uncovering corruption and planning to remove him in this way. These developments make it difficult to predict what will happen next. It’s important to note that the CPP has also gained control over the Vardenis-based community, as a result of the national protest that started on September 19, and currently has Vardanyan’s loyal group under house arrest. On November 1, the CPP held a conference of the government and announced their plans to appeal to this community as well.”
