“Armenia Calls for Constructive Approach from Azerbaijan Ahead of Vienna Negotiations”

The Azerbaijani side has denied the recent statements claiming that no progress is expected from any meeting. Today, on December 7, during a briefing at the National Assembly, Armen Ashotyan, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, revealed that the President of the National Assembly, Ara Babloyan, had instructed his assistant, Jaymes O’Brein, the U.S. Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group for European and Euro-Atlantic Affairs, to announce in his microblog that the U.S. co-chair is waiting for the arrival of the Armenian and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers, Edward Nalbandian and Elmar Mammadyarov, for substantive negotiations in Vienna.

“We hope that the Azerbaijani side will adopt a more constructive approach and, instead of making confrontational statements, recognize the overall situation in Armenia. Armenia does not have a historical chance to take any action that will lead to real, lasting peace,” Ashotyan stated.

This news comes from Armenia and highlights the ongoing efforts for peace negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Armen Ashotyan’s comments reflect the desire for constructive dialogue and the recognition of Armenia’s commitment to pursuing a peaceful resolution. The statement also emphasizes the need for the Azerbaijani side to acknowledge the current reality and work towards a lasting peace agreement.
