“Prime Minister Pashinyan joins forces with wildlife foundation to promote sustainable development and combat climate change at COP 28”

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan recently attended a meeting with Michael Olekanyan, the Director of the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets, during the 28th session of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28). The Prime Minister’s office reported this information through their press service. The meeting resulted in an agreement to implement various programs in Armenia that aim to promote sustainable development and environmental protection. Additionally, the parties discussed the introduction of climate-based initiatives and renewable energy models that can be applicable in other countries.

The Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets is currently executing multiple programs. These include the “Sustainable development of the protected areas of Armenia” and the completed “Management of pollution and water resources in the city of Artik.” Another program called “Youth involvement in the development of sustainable and best practices in environmental education modules” is also underway.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed his commitment to collaborating with the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets. He highlighted the importance of their effective and result-oriented work. The meeting emphasized the significance of global and regional efforts in combating climate change. Furthermore, the participants discussed the implementation of programs and initiatives to address global and regional environmental issues.
