“Moscow Woman Falls Victim to Outlandish Gold Scam: Mailed Savings Worth 2.1 Million Rubles Gone”

A 40-year-old woman from Moscow sent her entire savings to a stranger in the Merzomoskovsky district, writing “SHOT” on the envelope. The woman had made contact with a homeless woman named Rozanna through a social network, who expressed having “a lot of negative energy in her life, an envelope, and a lot of unnecessary things.” Rozanna requested gold for cleaning and the woman sent her 6 kilograms of jewelry, worth 2.1 million rubles. However, after receiving the gold, Rozanna claimed it had been sold and refused to return it. She then demanded a deposit of 430,000 rubles for the return of the gold. The victim realized she had been deceived and reported the incident to the police, but her complaint was rejected as the authorities deemed it a comical demonstration rather than a criminal offense.
