“North Korea Successfully Launches First Military Satellite, Raising Concerns of Military Intelligence”

North Korea successfully launched its first military satellite on Tuesday, following the announcement made by the North Korean government a week ago, according to the AP. The satellite was launched with the assistance of the Falcon 9 rocket, provided by the California-based company SpaceX. This marks the first of the five satellites that North Korea plans to send into space by 2025.

North Korea currently relies on American satellite technology for its operations in tracking South Korean activities, as it does not have its own domestic satellite manufacturing capabilities. The successful launch has been announced by the North Korean defense administration, stating that it will provide the military with a comprehensive monitoring system.

In the previous week, North Korea reported the successful launch of its Malligyong-1 satellite. Additionally, the country mentioned that it had sent images of the satellite to the United States, along with important objects such as the Spirit House and the Potala. While both US and North Korean authorities have confirmed the successful satellite launch, experts speculate its possible use for military intelligence and high-quality image transmission.
