“ARF Calls for Postponement of Upcoming Local Elections in Armenia Amid Political Instability”

Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) invited Mayor Levon Zurabyan of Mamullu to its headquarters on December 2, to discuss the upcoming local elections. Zurabyan expressed concerns about the timing of the elections, considering the political instability the country is still dealing with after the previous election campaign. He questioned who would benefit from this continued instability and argued that the elections should have been postponed. Zurabyan also emphasized that the current situation does not provide ideal conditions for fair elections due to internal threats. He suggested that these local elections are not political in nature, but rather an opportunity to focus on governance issues and potential obstacles to the peace process and the resolution of the Karabakh issue.
