Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Ara Mirzoyan Raises Nagorno-Karabakh Issues During Meeting with Ecuadorian Vice President

Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Ara Ararat Mirzoyan recently met with the Vice President of the National Assembly of Ecuador, Pia Lissá Caims, during the 30th session of the Executive Committee of the EAEC in Quito. The meeting focused on issues related to the activities of the EAEC, with consideration given to the recent EAEC Yerevan Extraordinary Session. One of the key topics discussed was the organization’s efforts to combat illegal actions and the use of force within the EAEC territory. The director of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Armenia highlighted the ongoing military aggression faced by the population of Nagorno-Karabakh, which resulted in the displacement of the entire Armenian population of Artsakh.

Ara Mirzoyan also discussed the steps taken to ensure the security of the population in the North Caucasus region and the progress made in organizing comprehensive discussions on the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement. He expressed his concerns regarding Azerbaijan’s reluctance to participate in recent high-level meetings, which hindered the advancement of negotiations. Mirzoyan stressed the importance of the participation of all mediators involved in the “Weapons of Peace” initiative, which is under the auspices of the government of Armenia, in order to fully understand the opportunities available to all parties involved.
