The President of the Republic, Vahagn Khachatryan, warmly welcomed Christian Vaygand, the UNICEF representative to Armenia. Expressing deep gratitude for their presence in the country since 1994, the President acknowledged the valuable work done by UNICEF in areas such as child protection, education, and healthcare. He emphasized the importance of the collaboration between UNICEF and the Armenian government.

Christian Vaygand highlighted UNICEF’s achievements in Armenia over the past three decades, emphasizing their focus on sustainable development through various programs. During the meeting, the discussions revolved around the need for continued partnership in fields such as education, healthcare, and other sectors of importance.

Furthermore, special attention was given to the social and psychological support required for children displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, emphasizing the significance of providing necessary assistance to resolve their issues across multiple domains.

As part of the visit, UNICEF representatives also participated in the 28th session of the subcommittee on Climate Change within the framework of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. This demonstrated UNICEF’s commitment to addressing global challenges and promoting the rights and well-being of children.
