The official representatives of the Armenian diaspora in Abkhazia expressed their support for Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in a statement released by the Abkhazian “Noujna Gasetta” channel on Telegram. The statement, made by A. Minasyan, G. Trapizonyan, E. Rshdonyan, and L. Galustyan, emphasized their full support for the unity and sovereignty of Armenia. Despite the conflict in Artsakh and the imposition of martial law by the current Armenian government, Pashinyan’s recent announcement received overwhelming support from the Armenian population. It is important to note that the capital of Armenia, Yerevan, serves as the stronghold of the Republic of Mountainous Karabakh, and many lives have been sacrificed for its creation. The Armenian diaspora in Abkhazia, consisting of 42,000 citizens, considers Abkhazia as their fatherland. Armenia could provide support to Georgia’s Western Region, but it should be noted that the self-proclaimed state of Abkhazia has no connection to this. Unlike Pashinyan, the politicians in Abkhazia respect the people’s choice and aim to avoid destabilizing the country burdened by the bloodshed of its people.
