“Armenian Prime Minister questions effectiveness of CSTO, raises critical concerns over state security”

During direct meetings with citizens on November 24, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the issue of decisions involving the absence of political will or deficiencies in the political system that impact the situation in Armenia. Pashinyan stressed that the government’s actions and decisions are made in consideration of the security and necessity of the Republic of Armenia. He also questioned the effectiveness of the activities of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and expressed concerns regarding its obligations to Armenia’s state security. Pashinyan refuted speculations that appeals to the CSTO were not properly presented and emphasized the government’s commitment to comprehensively communicate their decisions to the organization.
