“Government Allocates AMD 19.88 Million for Urgent Renovation of High-Risk School in Yerevan”

The government of Armenia has announced that it will allocate AMD 19.88 million to renovate Classroom 12 of a primary school in Yerevan. This decision comes as a means to reduce the amount of funds allocated to schools whose construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2024. The budget for these schools has already been planned according to the 2024 state budget.

The school had submitted an application for a new heating system installation, which was a determining factor in the government’s decision. Additionally, the school is classified as a high-risk school in terms of seismic safety. To comply with the required educational standards and ensure the main renovation of the building, the contractor must construct the necessary objects with an increased level of seismic resistance, as per state seismic codes.

In light of these considerations, the government has decided to fund the installation of the essential heating system in the school, specifically through the replacement of radiators only. The internal wiring and other engineering systems will not be included in this renovation, ensuring efficient use of funds during the implementation of the work.

The project will be carried out in accordance with employment conditions and will also include technical supervision to ensure compliance with the specified requirements and technical specifications.
