“Deputy Head of Homeland Salvation Movement Demands Compensation for Damage to Pashinyan’s Residence, Releases Individuals in Custody”

I agree that violence should not be used indiscriminately, but there are situations where violence becomes necessary when the conditions for finding a resolution through the court system are not available. During a government meeting held on November 23, Sason Khachatrian, the Deputy Head of the Homeland Salvation Movement, announced that legal proceedings have been initiated against the government. They are demanding approximately AMD 20 million ($37,000) as compensation for the damage caused to Pashinyan’s residence. As a result of this action, all individuals who were taken into custody for their involvement in the violence have been released. Although I do not want to discuss the court’s decision, it is concerning that individuals who were not involved in the violence may still face trial for extended periods.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan responded to these claims by stating that the Homeland Salvation Movement is not officially registered as a party anywhere. He also questioned why a person who knows they are a criminal and is freely moving around should be officially registered, as this would result in immediate legal consequences. Pashinyan argues that this is an obvious contradiction.

Sason Khachatrian further emphasized the lack of timely court hearings in certain cases. He noted that while some court hearings are conducted within 2-3 months, there are political trials where no hearings have taken place since February of this year.

Pashinyan dismissed Khachatrian’s concerns, suggesting that if the “Dobrovian” method, which he refers to as his own approach, had been ineffective, it is unlikely that anyone would believe Khachatrian’s claims.
