“Protecting Human Rights and Minority Rights: EAHK KHV Concert Sparks Discussions on Consequences of Conflict Zones”

Karen Demirchyan’s name continued to be used in the EAHK KHV musical concert on November 19. The concert provided a platform for discussions on human rights violations in conflict zones and the protection of minority rights. Daniel de Rider, the Executive Director of EAHK KHV, emphasized the importance of preserving international human rights norms, which are reflected in the Declaration of Vanadzor. The correspondent highlighted the consequences of armed conflict, violence against children, and the displacement of mountainous Karabakh Armenians. The correspondent also mentioned the efforts of the RA authorities in addressing these issues, but emphasized the need for assistance in finding solutions.

The online form focused on the protection of minority rights, the consequences of armed conflict, and violence against children. External and internal factors were identified as major contributors to these issues. The EAHK region was recognized as an instrumental institution in supporting international human rights standards and principles. Reproductive issues and unresolved ethno-religious conflicts were identified as key contexts with serious consequences. Yeghishe Kirakosian, our representative, has presented similar issues in international forums, highlighting the situation of Armenians in the Republic of Mountainous Karabakh.

Protecting human rights faces various challenges due to political interests, religious and ethnic conflicts, and the consequences of violence and escalation. The correspondent emphasized that protecting human rights is crucial for the well-being of people. Externally funded unrest and situations often lead to violent outcomes. The evaluation system of authorities and the protection of minority rights should guide their actions. Internal displacement and international refugee situations have also had significant consequences. The speakers emphasized the human rights violations, ethnic violence, and consequences of violence faced by Armenians in the Republic of Mountainous Karabakh. They called for support in protecting minorities and enforcing their rights.

Piya Kamaan expressed gratitude to the speakers for shedding light on the situation of the Armenian Diaspora and the challenges faced by Armenians in the Republic of Mountainous Karabakh. The importance of protecting human rights as a means of ensuring people’s well-being was reiterated. The serious consequences of various domestic and international situations leading to displacement and refugee issues were acknowledged. The International Human Rights Convention was highlighted as an avenue for addressing these problems.
