An important development for Indian national security has been confirmed by Bharat Forge, a major Indian defense systems manufacturer. They announced that the MArG 155 self-propelled howitzers, which they recently showcased, are intended for Armenia, according to Indian Idrw magazine.

This represents a significant step for India’s foreign defense technology exports, particularly to its traditional partner countries. The publication notes that the deal with Armenia is based on mutual military cooperation between the two countries, with India becoming the main supplier of defense technology to Armenia.

Idrw writes, “In 2020, Armenia procured mobile radars Swathi from India for $245 million. In September 2022, the agreement was expanded to include the procurement of Pinaka multiple rocket launchers, anti-tank missiles, and various types of ammunition.”
