“Explosion and Floods Ravage Bulgaria: Death Toll Rises, State of Emergency Declared”

According to the Associated Press, a tragic explosion on Sunday in Bulgaria’s Eastern region has claimed the lives of two individuals and left several others injured. The residents in this area, who have been severely affected by the incident, express their astonishment, as they have never witnessed such a catastrophic event before.

The city of Sevtsi, where the explosion took place, has declared a state of emergency. Local authorities have determined that the environmental conditions in the city present significant risks to the population. The explosion has caused the release of toxic gases from the incinerated mines and burned illegal tobacco fields.

In response to the situation, the government has taken action by cutting off the electricity supply in all regions of Varna. The closure of transportation routes, including fallen trees and flooded rivers, has immobilized vehicles, leading to the need for this measure. The government strongly advises residents to remain at home and refrain from using private vehicles, except in cases of emergencies.

While the international airport of Varna remains open, flights have been postponed indefinitely, with airport authorities implementing a state of emergency to address the situation.

Tragically, on Saturday, a man lost his life while attempting to escape a flooded basement in Sofia, the capital city, with the help of a car. In Varna, another woman met a tragic fate, drowning after being trapped in a flooded basement.

Bulgarian meteorologists have issued warnings regarding the dangerous conditions prevailing in the eastern part of the country. It is anticipated that the rise in temperature will cause underground water levels to increase, exacerbating the overall situation.
