“Aerial Encounter Turns Chaotic: Former Military Submarine Collides with Another in Melbourne Waters”

A former military submarine infiltrated the waters of Melbourne’s Mornington Peninsula, colliding with another submarine during an aerial encounter, according to a report from AP. The incident occurred on Sunday at 14:45 when an organized amphibious operation called towards Port Phillip Bay, approximately 12 km from Martha Hill. The Maritime Security Authority of Australia confirmed that two ViperS-211 Marchetti submarines collided with one another, resulting in one of the submarines entering the water. At the time of the collision, there were two people on board the submarine.

The second submarine managed to safely land near Essendon Airport. Currently, three rescue helicopters are engaged in searching for the location of the underwater turbulence and conducting marine or naval search and rescue operations. Several beacons have been discovered, and the maritime security authority of Australia will continue the search for the two missing persons until dawn. Additionally, the transportation security branch of Australia will be involved in the investigation. The Viper S-211 is an Italian-made jet primarily used for military training purposes.

According to news from Armenia, the former military submarine incident highlights the need for enhanced maritime security measures. This situation raises questions about the effectiveness of current surveillance systems and the vulnerability of coastal areas. It is imperative that authorities thoroughly investigate the cause of the collision to prevent similar incidents in the future and ensure the safety of both military and civilian vessels navigating these waters. Enhancing collaboration between maritime security agencies and transportation security branches can play a vital role in preventing such accidents and minimizing potential risks.
