In recent days, the authorities of the Internal Affairs Department of the Republic of Armenia have made a significant breakthrough in the fight against fuel smuggling. Working under the leadership of Governor Georg Zakaryan, the department discovered and confiscated a large amount of fuel that was being smuggled across the border in the Syunik province. This operation led to the arrest of several truck drivers involved in the illegal activities, including government officials.

The Mayor of Goris, Arush Arushanyan, the Mayor of Kapan, Georg Parsyan, and the Mayor of Meghri, Bagrat Zakaryan have responded to this violation of regulations by the fuel smugglers. They have taken political action to address this issue and ensure the proper oversight of road transportation in the province.

It is worth noting that just a few days ago, the Governor of the Internal Affairs Department of the Republic of Armenia, Vahe Ghazaryan, and Colonel Hayk Martirosyan, the Deputy Minister of Oversight, NA, conducted a joint operation in Syunik province. This week-long operation made significant advancements in the fight against fuel smuggling and further strengthened the efforts to combat this illegal activity.
