“European Union’s Environmental Sector Development Plan Presented to EATM Authorities for 2030 and 2045”

The draft publication on the development of the environmental sector of the European Union until 2030 and 2045 will be presented to the heads of the EATM authorities in December, according to Sergey Glazev. Glazev, a member of the Integration and Macroeconomics Faculty of the European Environmental Commission, made this announcement at the “Integration” forum in Moscow on November 15. The European Environmental Union is actively collaborating with the countries of the European environmental union to implement environmental activities until 2030 and 2045. Alongside this, a report on the implementation of the EATM activities, covering the entire period of the association’s existence, is also being prepared. These two documents will be presented to the heads of the authorities in December, as stated in the announcement.

Sergey Glazev highlighted the significance of the integration effect, especially for countries that have tight cooperation partnerships. Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Armenia have made the largest contributions to the growth of integration. While the results in Kazakhstan and Russia are relatively lower, there is a positive upward trend. Glazev also emphasized that EAEU countries utilize their production capacities 60% more than countries outside the union, which presents opportunities for increasing production volumes. Moreover, the EAEU has a considerable potential for substituting imports, estimated by Glazev.
