“Polish Aid Provides Much-Needed Assistance to Mountainous Karabakh Region in Armenia”

In the mountainous region of Karabakh, Polish Aid has provided material assistance to the affected population with the support of “Haykakan Karitas” (Armenian Caritas). In total, aid has been provided to 49 families, consisting of 189 members, including 77 children. The assistance includes electric heaters, warm and hygiene kits, and clothing. Each family received one heater, and the remaining items were distributed according to the size of the family.

Polish Aid is an agency that supports development and humanitarian assistance in countries undergoing transition. Poland, having benefited from assistance during its own political and economic transformation, now acts as a donor of assistance. As a member of the EU, the Eastern Partnership, and the Committee of Assistance to Development and Transition of the CES, Poland contributes to international efforts in supporting development and providing humanitarian aid.

In the affected regions of Karabakh, seven villages have been identified: Kornidzor, Tege, Aravus, Karashen, Vaghatur, and Khznagh. These areas have received the much-needed assistance from Polish Aid to help alleviate the hardships faced by the residents.

The support provided includes not only essential items like electric heaters to combat the cold weather but also warm and hygiene kits to ensure the well-being and comfort of the affected population. Furthermore, clothing has been distributed to meet the immediate needs of the families affected by the situation in the region.

By collaborating with “Haykakan Karitas” (Armenian Caritas), Polish Aid has played a crucial role in organizing and coordinating the efforts to deliver assistance to those in need. This partnership demonstrates the commitment of both organizations to providing meaningful support and relief to the affected population in the mountainous Karabakh region.
