“Netanyahu Rejects Calls to Halt Military Operations in Gaza, Vows to Continue Until Objectives Are Met”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has firmly rejected calls to halt military operations in Gaza. When asked if Israel would consider a longer ceasefire to allow for more substantial talks on a permanent agreement, Netanyahu responded by saying that Hamas wants an endless series of ceasefires to prolong the conflict. He also confirmed that Israel will not agree to a complete withdrawal from the territory, as it would enable Hamas militants to continue attacking Israel.

In an interview with CNN, Netanyahu outlined three main objectives for the Gaza operation. Firstly, to prevent Hamas from replenishing its stocks. Secondly, to disable the large military infrastructure that serves as a base for further attacks. And finally, to ensure that any future political regime in Gaza won’t have the ability to disrupt the lives of Israelis. He also emphasized that Israel is providing humanitarian aid by creating safe passages for patients at Al-Shifa Hospital, which Hamas is using as a central command center.

With more than 10,000 fatalities since the beginning of the Israeli military operation in Gaza, Netanyahu dismissed the accusation that Israel is violating international law. In an interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press,” he stated that the accusation is baseless and that Israel acts strictly proportionally to protect its civilian population. He acknowledged that casualties do happen in civilian areas, as is the case in any conventional conflict.
