“Gegharkunik Regional Administration Takes Steps to Support Repatriated Families from Nagorno-Karabakh”

The Gegharkunik Regional Administration recently held a meeting to address the concerns surrounding the repatriation of families who were displaced from the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh and are currently residing in the Gegharkunik region of Armenia.

According to the administration, Governor Karen Sargsyan stated that, out of the 917 children aged 5-18 from these families, 759 are currently attending local schools, while 48 are enrolled in schools under the Ministry of Education. Additionally, 62 out of the 391 preschool-aged children have been enrolled in kindergartens, with 16 attending primary schools.

The administration has also made significant efforts to provide healthcare services to these families. Five pediatricians and four school maintenance personnel have been tirelessly working to ensure the well-being and educational needs of the children. Furthermore, one doctor and one nurse have been assigned to the medical centers in Gavar and Sevan.

In order to support the development of rural areas, the administration has appointed 17 specialists. These specialists will facilitate the participation of families in government-run rural development programs, in accordance with the decisions made by the regional administration.

This update from the Gegharkunik Regional Administration highlights the continuous efforts being made to address the challenges faced by the repatriated families and provide them with necessary support to rebuild their lives in Armenia.
