“Arson Attack in Tavush Province: Businessman and Accomplices Suspected in Destructive Fire Incident”

Yesterday, on November 12th, a series of fires broke out in the Tavush province. According to official information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the emergency information department in the Dilijan region, the fires were concentrated in the residential area of Aghavnavank in Dilijan. One particular residential building, belonging to Aleksan Nersisyan, a 28-year-old resident of Tavush, was completely engulfed in flames during the active operations carried out between 18:00 and 19:00. Witnesses to the incident, Arthur Mesropyan, 24, and Hayk Stepanyan, 51, reported the situation. They were among a group of people led by A. Nersisyan, who had organized a gathering in response to recent events. Shockingly, several vehicles were also set on fire, including a Toyota, 3 Mercedes, 2 Niva, 2 Russian-made 06, and a VAZ 2105.

In response to this disturbing situation, H. Stepanyan, the head of the Dilijan regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, immediately contacted the Dilijan branch of the emergency department. He reported that A. Nersisyan, the owner of “Ginetan” private company, had orchestrated the incident with the involvement of several of his business partners, including A. Mesropyan and himself.

Consequently, a special committee from the Republic of Armenia’s Prosecutor’s Office in the Tavush province has been assigned to thoroughly investigate the matter. The committee will provide detailed information regarding their findings at a later time.
