Yandex Partners with Armenian-Russian University to Expand IT Education with Python Programming and Data Analysis Courses

Yandex, the global technological company, is undertaking a significant initiative in Armenia by developing IT courses geared towards students. These courses will specialize in Python programming and data analysis, skills that are in high demand in the job market. The project will be launched at the Armenian-Russian University, with the aim of preparing students for internships in Yandex’s online courses and providing access to students in applied mathematics and informatics faculties.

Under this program, lower-level students will have the opportunity to take Yandex’s online course on data analysis, while higher-level students will gain access to Yandex’s data analysis courses and programming programs. The goal is to provide students with practical skills and real-world experience, as well as opportunities for employment within the company’s educational management system.

Arkady Volozh, the CEO of Yandex, expressed the company’s desire to collaborate with universities to enhance the quality of education. This partnership will enable Yandex to provide students with access to industry experts and resources, ensuring that they are well-equipped for the job market and capable of making new advancements.

The director of the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at the Armenian-Russian University, Arman Darbinyan, praised the collaboration between Yandex and the university, highlighting the strong mathematical school that Armenia has established. He emphasized that Yandex’s educational projects aim to improve the overall quality of education.

The School of Data Analysis (SDA), established by Yandex, offers a free educational program for individuals interested in becoming data science experts or professionals in managing and storing large-scale data systems. The program consists of four modules: data science, machine learning development, big data infrastructure, and data analysis in arts and humanities. Thus far, the SDA has successfully trained over 350 students in Armenia.
