“Armenia and India Forge Closer Ties with Historic Customs Cooperation Agreement”

The governments of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of India have signed a memorandum on cooperation in customs and exchange assistance. Ashot Muradyan, the Secretary of the Commission of the Republic of Armenia, announced the agreement during the meeting of the Permanent Joint Committee on Economic and Trade Questions on November 10. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia reported this development.

The agreement was signed on June 23, 2023, in Brussels. According to an official statement, the document aims to expand cooperation in the exchange of information on customs assistance and the implementation of technical systems for exchanging such information based on real requests for economic cooperation between Armenia and India.

Implementation of this agreement will facilitate quick and effective resolution of issues related to the violation of customs regulations during the import of goods from India to Armenia and vice versa. This connection between the two countries will have a positive impact on trade relations.
