“Judge Urged to Take Swift Action in Pemzashen Murder Case: Father’s Plea for Justice Echoes in Courtroom”

In a court session held on November 9 in Pemzashen, the father of a murdered family made a firm statement urging the judge to swiftly deliver justice. The case involved the brutal murder of a mother and her two children. Vruyr and Arakadie Barsheghyan, the father and son responsible for the crime, will remain in custody as the Yerevan Criminal Court has decided to extend their detention period by three months. The accused individuals have differing responses to the charges, with Vruyr accepting guilt and Arakadie denying any involvement.

The tragic incident took place on November 9, when Vruyr Barsheghyan discovered the lifeless bodies of his 31-year-old partner, her 12-year-old sister, and their 8-year-old son in their family home in Pemzashen village. While Vruyr admitted to the crime, Arakadie maintains his innocence and asserts that he was not present at the scene. It is worth noting that both defendants are married and have children of their own. Furthermore, one of the victims’ brothers’ wife is currently employed in the Russian Federation and is returning from a maternity leave.

According to the preliminary investigation committee, revenge was determined to be the motive behind the heinous act. Vruyr Barsheghyan faces multiple charges, including murder (Article 155), illegal possession of a weapon (Article 252), and inhumane treatment of individuals with sexual perversion (Article 198). Meanwhile, Arakadie Barsheghyan is charged with specific sections of the murder and illegal possession of a weapon articles.
