Armenian American Museum Hosts Grand Reception at Walt Disney Concert Hall, Showcasing Iconic Cultural Collaboration

The Armenian American Museum and Cultural Center of California recently hosted a special reception at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in collaboration with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The event featured a presentation of Composer Aram Khachaturian’s internationally acclaimed musical compositions. Margaret Mgrublian, a member of the Board of Governors, expressed her gratitude for the evening of arts, culture, and community. She emphasized the importance of iconic venues like the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the future Armenian American Museum in preserving and celebrating culture.

The Los Angeles Philharmonic, an internationally renowned orchestra, uses live music to build community, foster growth, and nurture creativity. The performance by Director Gustavo Dudamel explored Aram Khachaturian’s distinctive voice, featuring pieces from his ballet “Spartacus” and the heroic Piano Concerto with the help of Jean-Yves Thibaudet.

Following the musical performance, a special reception was held in the Founders Room of the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Attendees included Naming Opportunities, Benefactors, and Legacy Council donors of the museum. The event was sponsored by longtime supporters of the museum.

Executive Chairman Berdj Karapetian announced that the Armenian American Museum will begin construction early next year with the installation of the museum’s structural steel. He expressed gratitude to the generous donors who have supported the community’s vision for the landmark center. The museum, located in Glendale Central Park, will feature a wide range of public programming through its Permanent Exhibition, Temporary Exhibitions, Auditorium, Learning Center, Demonstration Kitchen, and Archives Center.
