Armenian Citizens Abroad to Receive Pensions and Social Benefits, Says Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs

Daily and technological work is being carried out to create opportunities for our compatriots living abroad to exercise their rights and responsibilities as citizens of the Republic of Armenia regarding the privileges and benefits of pensions and allowances. During a press conference held on November 7, the RA Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Narek Mkrtchyan, stated that Armenian citizens living abroad who receive pensions and allowances from the Republic of Armenia will now also have the right to receive healthcare and social benefits, provided they meet the conditions set by the RA legislation.

“As a result of the deprivation of benefits due to non-receipt of pensions and allowances from the Republic of Armenia, Armenian citizens living abroad who receive pensions or allowances will now have the right to receive benefits and allowances. In order to streamline these processes, we have made changes in the legislation, taking into consideration the bureaucratic processes that might arise. Once the daily reality is presented, discussed, and approved, we will be able to deliver benefits and allowances to all those compatriots who are entitled to receive privileges and allowances from the RA,” said the official. He further explained that if their age exceeds the age limit entitling them to receive pensions or allowances from the Republic of Armenia, their payments will be made starting from October 28.

The official emphasized the importance of registering one’s place of residence in the Republic of Armenia with the social security institutions in order to receive benefits and allowances. He pointed out that there are 49 centers of one-stop social services in the Republic of Armenia, and their addresses are readily available to the public.

Furthermore, the official stated that if the place of residence of an individual who is not receiving benefits is registered in the Republic of Armenia, it is mandatory to immediately register at one of the centers of the Unified Social Service of the Republic. Once registered, the individual’s data will be processed, and they will be granted the right to receive benefits and allowances.
