Armenian Government Implements Measures to Provide Social Security for Residents Affected by Martial Law

During the meeting held on October 26, the Government of Armenia made a decision to accept the proposal of the LSG (Local Self-Government) regarding temporary protection for the residents affected by the martial law. According to a statement by the RA (Republic of Armenia) Ministry of Foreign Affairs to NEWS.am, individuals who currently reside in Armenia and have received social security or protection from the LSG will be provided with social security and protection in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Armenia. To implement these provisions, changes will be made, including the establishment of relevant information databases and the use of software systems.

In the near future, a platform will be created to allow residents affected by the LSG to apply for social security online, as well as for maternity protection, motherhood protection, and disability protection. If individuals have not received social security from the LSG, they must apply to the Unified Social Services Agency for registration in order to receive social security. The procedures for applying for social security or protection will be announced soon.

It’s important to note that being registered at the place of residence with a valid RA address is a mandatory requirement to be eligible for social security or protection. Residents affected by the LSG must be registered at their current address to qualify for social security or protection. Failure to do so will result in rejected applications.
