“Pope Francis and President Abbas Discuss Gaza Crisis and Humanitarian Aid in Telephone Conversation”

Patriarch Manmoud Abbas, the president of Palestine, had a telephone conversation with Pope Francis of Rome on Thursday evening. They discussed the situation in Gaza and the worsening conditions in the Jordan River Valley. The Pontiff expressed his deep concern for the civilian casualties and expressed his hope that President Abbas would stay in touch with the European Union and the Vatican for humanitarian aid and assistance, as reported by WAFA news agency. The Pope also emphasized the importance of achieving peace, ending the war in the Middle East, and providing constant humanitarian assistance to everyone.

In response, President Abbas highlighted the significance of the Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip. He also addressed the situation of vital interests in the West Bank. President Abbas reaffirmed the importance of reaching a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and ending the Israeli aggression. He also stressed the need for the normalization of the situation in the Jordan River Valley and constant humanitarian aid for the Palestinian residents affected by the ongoing war, according to WAFA.

The president further emphasized the necessity to protect civilians from the horrors of war. He highlighted the unjust actions of Israel in the Gaza Strip, especially considering the limited resources available in the Israeli-occupied territories, as reported by WAFA.
