Former Minister of Defense Accused of Undermining National Security Committee: Shocking Revelations Surface

Former Minister of Defense, Arshak Karapetyan, who has always been critical of the government’s announcements on security issues, is unlikely to have been involved in any temporary research committee studying the aftermath of the four-day war, according to Andranik Kocharyan, the President of the National Security and Defense Committee. Kocharyan revealed in an interview with NEWS.am that Karapetyan himself was curious about why he was called for a second time to the committee’s meeting. Kocharyan mentioned that Karapetyan talked about intelligence activities and expressed anxiety about the reasons for his inclusion. However, the discovery of handwritten orders given by Karapetyan to the troops shed light on his level of involvement.

Kocharyan also mentioned that they had questioned Sergei Sargsyan about the military’s participation in Moscow, despite excluding Karapetyan from the committee. Sargsyan’s response was deemed misleading by Kocharyan, hinting at unusual actions taken by Sargsyan when it came to Karapetyan’s activities. Kocharyan suggested that once Sargsyan’s answer becomes public, it will become apparent that something extraordinary occurred regarding Karapetyan’s involvement.

Furthermore, Kocharyan confirmed that the institution, which had supported Karapetyan’s activities, also began to lose confidence in him. Having previously been part of this institution, Karapetyan used his knowledge to undermine trust in himself even within the newly formed committee. Kocharyan emphasized that the authorities acted swiftly once they recognized Karapetyan’s ambitious gestures and unhealthy behavior.
