“Funds Allocated to Artsakh Government, Not Residents: Armenian Finance Minister Clarifies Aid Distribution”

The Government of RA, not the residents of Artsakh, has been the recipient of funds provided by the Ministry of Defense. In a recent meeting with journalists on October 31, Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan clarified the reason why the people of Artsakh are unable to receive salaries and financial aid. According to the minister, the allocated amount for this year has already been provided, with a surplus of 6 billion drams. Additional decisions made throughout the year have resulted in an increased amount that is now being provided to people in Armenia.

When asked if the remaining amount for Artsakh should be considered as assistance, Minister Hovhannisyan emphasized that the current provision of 100 thousand and 50 thousand drams is already higher than what was initially intended. While there has been no decision made to withhold this amount from Artsakh, the minister questions the necessity of doing so. Considering the substantial amounts already allocated for salaries, the minister sees no reason for altering the distribution.

In order to receive financial assistance, individuals must be registered in Armenia’s system and receive their aid through the general system of the Republic of Armenia. This requirement ensures a streamlined process for assistance distribution and proper record-keeping.
