He was there to showcase a new model of the luxury watch brand Audemars Piguet, which had not been previously announced by the company. This particular watch holds special significance as Schwarzenegger has worn it in several films. With only 20 similar watches in existence, he had kept it in a secret room for three hours before presenting it to the public. However, it was not without a hefty price, as he had to foot the bill for the watch’s value, examination, and duties.

Schwarzenegger, being the philanthropist that he is, decided to sell the watch for a charitable cause. Specifically, he wanted to use the proceeds for climate protection purposes. The watch garnered a lot of attention, which Schwarzenegger humorously referred to as it being “the most watched watch in the world at the moment”. Initially, he valued the watch at around 20,000 euros, but the initial price has now been set at 50,000 euros. As the auction progressed, excitement filled the air in the representatives’ boxes.

The German tabloid, Bild, reported on Schwarzenegger’s visit and quoted him addressing the issue of climate change. He referred to the current state of affairs as “a problem because Germany is ill”, highlighting the importance of taking action. It’s clear that Schwarzenegger’s intention, with the sale of this extraordinary watch, is to contribute to the efforts of climate protection and make a positive impact.
