“EAF Rejects Ms. Harutyunyan as Representative, Minister of Finances Resigns from EU-Armenia Partnership Platform”

The report reveals that Ms. Harutyunyan, the former president of the parliament, has not been chosen as the representative of the group by the EAF. On December 6, during a closed-door meeting of the EAF’s Security Council, Mrs. Tovmasyan, a member of the “I Have Honor” bloc and Minister of Finances, announced her resignation from the joint declaration of the European Union-Armenia Partnership Platform concerning the fight against corruption.

Highlighting her concerns about aggressive actions and decisions made by certain members of the bloc’s families and associates, Mrs. Tovmasyan emphasized that these issues led to the closure of the session. She stated, “I am aware of some aggressive acts in your perception. There may have been some processes or events happening before the session that will be continued after the session.”

Responding to these comments, Ms. Harutyunyan asserted, “As a political figure, I do not engage in any activities that go beyond the bounds of politics and political statements. I also maintain a balanced and respectful approach towards my work.”

In addition, Ms. Tovmasyan expressed that the response did not clarify what had occurred during the closed-door session of the EAF.

It is important to note that the EUMM in Armenia has invited the EAF to a closed meeting in order to discuss incidents of domestic violence and pressure on their representative, Ms. Harutyunyan.
