“Armenia and Russia Strengthen Cooperation to Ensure Quality and Safety of Livestock Imports”

On December 5, the Director of Food Safety of Armenia, Arman Harutyunyan, and the Director of Hygiene and Epidemiology of the Russian Federation, Sergey Dankvert, met in Moscow. The discussions between the parties have been ongoing regarding the import of Russian livestock products from Armenia and the issues arising in the process in recent days.

Arman Harutyunyan emphasized that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure the safety of imported livestock products, including the suspension of imports to investigate any violations. He stressed the importance of maintaining the quality and safety of imported agricultural products.

Sergey Dankvert acknowledged that the Russian veterinary service treats the import of any agricultural products from any country with the same level of scrutiny and considers the strict deadlines for conducting inspections to resolve identified violations.

The parties have agreed to enhance cooperation and communication to quickly resolve any issues related to the import of agricultural products manufactured in Armenia to Russia. The deadline for conducting inspections will be determined according to work schedules.

The parties have expressed their commitment to improve cooperation between the veterinary services with the aim of swiftly resolving any issues that arise through joint efforts and expertise.
