“CEO of CGMS and Ministry of Education Collaborate to Improve Textbooks for Grades 2, 5, and 7”
The Ministry of Education has announced that Jeanne Andreyasyan, the CEO of CGMS, recently had a meeting with representatives of the authors of textbooks approved for the 2nd, 5th, and 7th grades. The meeting, which was attended by the Minister of Education, Araksia Svajyan, and representatives of the Ministry’s administration, focused on collecting feedback on the new textbooks from various stakeholders. Jeanne Andreyasyan emphasized the importance of addressing technical errors, improving the content of the textbooks, and making them more accessible to students. There were also discussions on the quality of electronic materials, the need for curriculum revision, and the organization of teacher training in relation to textbook development.
The CEO of CGMS highlighted the need to analyze and substantiate historical thinking in the textbooks, as well as the importance of proper analysis of visual materials. It was suggested that paper inserts be distributed to schools until improvements in the textbooks can be implemented practically. The participants also discussed the provision of complete presentations of the textbooks on school websites and the production of electronic versions for integration into the content. The importance of favorable conditions for authors and financial support for the textbook development process was also emphasized.
The meeting also covered funding, time schedule, and other issues related to textbook production. The participants agreed on the need for in-depth discussions of scientific and pedagogical matters pertaining to the production and implementation of textbooks. Overall, the aim of the meeting was to gather feedback, address any deficiencies in the textbooks, and ensure their continuous improvement to benefit the students and teachers.
