“Armenian Parliament Speaker Demands Respect: ‘Tikin Mikrtchyan’ Becomes Key Focus in Heated Exchange”
During a recent speech, Speaker of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, emphasized the importance of Tikin Mikrtchyan. Mirzoyan clarified that he was specifically referring to Tikin Mikrtchyan, not “Anahit” as some may have assumed. This statement came in response to a member of the “I Have Honor” bloc, Anna Mkrtchyan, who had addressed the Prime Minister by name on two occasions.
Mirzoyan reiterated the significance of Tikin Mikrtchyan, emphasizing his respect for the audience, council members, and their partners. Additionally, Mirzoyan requested that proposals be directed to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, by using appropriate titles such as “Mr. Prime Minister” or “Prime Minister Pashinyan.” He expressed the need for respect towards the council, government, and citizens of Armenia.
Hakob Arshakyan, following Mirzoyan’s remarks, issued a warning to Anna Mkrtchyan. He stated that if she and any other member engage in disrespectful behavior, their privileges will be revoked. Arshakyan emphasized that he will not tolerate such conduct and advised Mkrtchyan to leave and consider the repercussions of her actions.
These developments highlight the importance of respectful communication within the National Assembly. It serves as a reminder that dialogue should be conducted in a manner that upholds decorum and proper etiquette. By adhering to these principles, members can create a more productive and harmonious working environment.
