On December 21, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, welcomed Ambassador Joseph Didié of France to the Republic of Armenia at Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. During their meeting, His Holiness expressed his gratitude for Ambassador Didié’s support of the just rights of the Artsakh Republic. They also discussed the declaration of martial law and the state of emergency imposed by Azerbaijan, as well as Azerbaijan’s aggression against the territories of Armenia.

Furthermore, His Holiness Catholicos Karekin II provided Ambassador Didié with an overview of the large-scale military activities taking place in Azerbaijan. He also emphasized the importance of the humanitarian-cultural mission focused on preserving the spiritual and cultural heritage in Artsakh.

Amid these challenging times, Ambassador Didié assured the Supreme Patriarch that France is closely monitoring the Armenian-Azerbaijani armed conflict. He expressed his firm belief that necessary measures will be taken to safeguard the rights of the Armenian people and ensure the security of Armenia moving forward.
