“Sasun” Song-Festival Director Andranik Sargsyan Threatened with Eviction as Construction Nears His Residence: Calls for Urgent Action

Andranik Sargsyan, the director of the “Sasun” national patriotic song-festival and founder of the “Gata Bendi” creative union, has announced that a 12-story building is being constructed near his home in the Tumanyan district of Yerevan. Sargsyan confirmed that a part of the building is being built on his property, with the structure only three meters away from his place.

In a social media post, Sargsyan expressed his frustration with the management of the construction project, claiming that he has been dealing with their lack of understanding and disregard for safety. He further stated that he has reached out to Nikol Pashinyan, the Prime Minister of Armenia, several times, with the most recent contact being on-site.

Sargsyan criticized the delay in obtaining approval for the changed materials for the construction, which should have gone through an expertise process. He called out Tigran Avinyan, addressing him as the court, the management, and the biggest debtor, expressing his frustration and asking if Avinyan intends to evict him from his own house.

Sargsyan emphasized that the current approach of ignoring the destruction of an Armenian house is not a solution and urged the authorities to address the issue and find a resolution. He declared that if the situation continues, he will be forced to leave his home.
