“Cross-Border Collaboration: Armenian and Georgian Human Rights Defenders Unite for Protection of Rights and Freedom”

On December 1, Anna Manasyan met with Liana Isoelyan, the national human rights defender (ombudsman) of Armenia, at her office in Tbilisi. This meeting was reported by the MIHR newsroom. The importance of recognizing and supporting cooperation between human rights defenders of both countries in the protection of human rights and freedoms was emphasized by the human rights defender. Discussions were held with the partner organization about various issues related to planning activities to promote cooperation in the field of human rights.

During the meeting, Anna Manasyan highlighted the priorities for protecting human rights and freedoms, particularly focusing on individuals from national minorities who are vulnerable to discrimination and violations. The objective of this collaboration between human rights defenders is to safeguard the rights of individuals from national minorities and prevent discrimination. The delegation comprises representatives from national minority organizations in the Republic of Armenia who are actively involved in protecting the rights of national minorities, as well as representatives from local organizations.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to continue and expand their cooperation in the realm of protecting human rights and freedoms.
