We announce a public announcement, inviting the community of Alaverdi to consider holding new elections. On December 2, the representative of the alternative group created in Alaverdi, Mesrop Arakelyan, spoke about the current situation at the invitation of the Alliance “Country for Living.”

Arakelyan highlighted the alleged election fraud taking place in Alaverdi, accusing the Central Electoral Commission and the ruling party of manipulating voters to secure their position. He emphasized that the solution to the community’s issues lies in ensuring that power is formed according to the will of the people. The alternative selection of the Armenians of Alaverdi presents a direct path to achieving this.

Arakelyan suggested that the proposed TIM law could provide a resolution, allowing for the declaration of alternative elections. He expressed concern that the ruling party, with its administrative resources and connections, would manipulate the elections in Alaverdi. He also noted that if they refrained from doing so, it could indicate a crisis within the government that needs immediate attention.

Furthermore, Arakelyan expressed the group’s commitment to working in Alaverdi and fulfilling the trust placed in them. However, he raised concerns about delays in the process, specifically the lack of regular meetings hindering the progress of their programs.
